"Jewel of the Sonoita Valley"

At 4044 feet, Patagonia's climate is ideal. Summers are at least
10 degrees cooler than Tucson and the summer rains turn the foothills emerald
green. Snow comes in the winter, but seldom stays on the ground more than a day.
Wild flowers in abundance bloom along the roadsides, and up the canyons in
spring. The Santa Rita Mountains crowned by 9,453 Mt. Wrightson to the north,
and the Patagonia Mountains to the south, provide spectacular views.
The Nature Conservancy's Patagonia-Sonoita
Creek Preserve draws birders from around the world. The streamside forest
supports over 300 species of birds and wild life abounds.
